About Us

Bishop Lavis High School, a township school, situated 13 kilometres from Cape Town - serves a predominantly coloured community, where the unemployment rate is close to 50%. The social challenges are immense but we have a dedicated staff complement that strives to educate the downtrodden of this land.

Challengers

Serving a marginalised community, the social economic situation of the people has got a direct impact on the performance of our learners, over the past few years the pass rate in all grades have dropped, its only the skewed intervention strategies of the National Department of Education in lowering the required standards that makes our pass rate in the lower grades look “normal”.
