Successful Teacher-Parent Meeting Ensures
Transparency in Academic Progress

In a remarkable display of collaboration and transparency, educators, parents, and learners convened on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Bishop Lavis High School for a crucial mid-year report handing-out session. Spearheaded by The Grade Head Ms K. Nandoo and her team, this event aimed to bridge the gap between home and school by ensuring parents were well-informed about their children's academic performance during the term.

The day was meticulously organized with classes divided into designated time slots, allowing each subject teacher ample opportunity to discuss learners' progress in detail. Teachers, motivated to provide insightful reflections on the term's experiences, engaged earnestly with parents, fostering an environment conducive to understanding and growth.

The principal took a particular focus on the Grade 12 learners, offering reflections on their term performance. Meanwhile, Mr Rabie, Subject Head of Religious Studies, posed a poignant question to parents based on the June exam scores: "Can you trust your child?" This introspective query prompted one-on-one sessions that elicited a range of emotions but ultimately led to meaningful conversations and decisive actions.

As the sessions concluded, parents departed with a clear understanding of their child's academic and behavioral standings, empowered by the insights shared during the meeting. The event not only highlighted the school's commitment to academic excellence but also underscored its dedication to fostering a supportive partnership between educators and families. This initiative not only strengthens the educational community at Bishop Lavis High School but also sets a commendable example for schools striving to enhance parental involvement and learner success.
